Emma Watson doesn’t have any dogs. She does have two cats though. Her cats are named Bubbles and Domino. Watson is a reported huge animal lover and has been seen hanging out with multiple friends’ pets in the past. In 2012, she was criticized for walking a bubblegum pink dog, which was not hers.

Emma Watson’s Cats
As mentioned above, Emma Watson has two cats. The cats’ names are Bubbles and Domino. Unlike other celebrities, her cats are not any sort of purebred cat and are both mixes or “mutt” breeds. A Quora user, Robyn Rishe, describes Emma’s cats perfectly, stating “The white one with patterned face and a slightly visible striped tail is probably a calico mix… Watson’s other cat appears to be a red tabby mix.”
Watson played a character who also owned a red tabby cat, Hermione Granger. Hermione’s magical cat was named Crookshanks and he got into all sorts of trouble. There were two cats that played Hermione Granger’s cat in the Harry Potter series. The first cat to appear as Crookshanks in the series was a Red Persian named Pumpkin from the Isle of Man. The second cat was a male Red Persian cat named Crackerjack.
There was another type of cat that appeared in the Harry Potter films, but it wasn’t associated with Emma Watson’s character, Hermione. No, this cat was named Mrs. Norris; she was the companion to Filch. Mrs. Norris was played by three different Maine Coon cats, a breed known for being very big, long-haired, and with tufted ears.
In 2017, Emma Watson showed her love for cats when she did an interview with Buzzfeed while surrounded by different kittens. She seemed barely able to concentrate because she was overloaded by the cuteness. You can watch the full interview by following the below YouTube link.
The Pink Dog Controversy
In June of 2012, social media was abuzz after a photo emerged of Emma Watson walking a bubblegum pink dog. Many fans were wondering if Watson was now the owner of a new dog, the breed she was walking was a Bichon Frise. Many more fans and vets were questioning whether or not the dying of the dog’s hair was humane.
Like so many other “fiascos,” Emma Watson shut people down by telling them what’s what. She took to Twitter and posted this status: “Ayeye. Just to clarify one more time that I don’t have a dog. @PinkDarcyDog is pink because her owner is raising money for breast cancer.”
Still, some vets were critical of the act of dying a dog. This Telegraph article quotes vet Emma Milne saying “Even if the dye is completely safe – and the dye that Emma Watson has used should be absolutely fine – you are still altering the way the dog looks and smells to other animals. Potentially, it could have an effect on the way that dog interacts with other dogs.”
Watson’s Past Pets
In 2014, when Emma Watson was awarded the Britannia Award for Artist of the Year, she dedicated the award in part to her hamster that had passed away during the filming of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.
In her speech, she stated the film industry had become her surrogate family. She said that “My onset hamster, Millie, had a heart attack and didn’t quite make it. So the set decorators built a small mahogany sized hamster coffin. It had a velvet lining and a silver plaque on the front which had Millie’s name engraved on it.” A perfect example of what family does for someone in times of grief.
