Surface Magazine's DesignDialogues No. 6 With Hans Ulrich Obrist, Kanye West And Jacques Herzog

I can begrudgingly admit, I am one of those people who appreciates Kanye West. I know it is not easy being a superstar and a music star, and yes, his ego may be a bit large, but Kanye does what most people with big heads don’t. Kanye West backs it up. He backs it up with momentous albums, and he backs it up with fashion and short films and just an overall sense that he is a true renaissance man. So what do you do if you’re Kanye West and are about to do a show in Boston? Why, you stop by Harvard and give a speech about fashion, that’s what.

That, my friends, is ambition. Plain and simple. Who of us can say Kanye West doesn’t have it? No one. You don’t have to agree with him or like his ways, but you cannot deny the impact the man has made on popular culture. How many rappers do you know who could dip over to Harvard and talk about how fashion is changing the world? None but Kanye West, and that is what makes it all so memorable and impressive.

USA TODAY has more details, but the long and the short is, there is nothing Kanye West can’t do, and it is just a matter of time before we all see that.
